This rare sword is coming from Sumatra. It is known as Podang type II. Heavy 33 inches fullered blade. Engraved steel cup style handle with the grip bound with twisted silver wires. Gold pommel set with diamonds. Original fabric hand cushion. Original leather covered scabbard with silver locket (new). Total length 42 inches. Very good condition. Blackened areas and shallow pitted spots on the blade. A rare and impressive sword.
