Very Rare Kiem Vietnamese Straight Sword - 13266


This straight, double edge sword is Vietnamese, early 20 C. , also known as Kiem. Its narrow long well forged blade is 29 inches long nicely fullered and lightly engraved. The handle is composed of grip made of very rare fossil tooth (Mammoth ??) and mounted with big chased silver pommel and cross guard. Wood scabbard with very fine mother of pearl inlay decoration in typical style and with beautifully chased silver mounts. Total length 39 inches. Good condition, the silver locket is damaged.
