This sword is an Arabian saber, also known as Saif. These Saif swords usually employs trade blades imported from Persia or from Europe, or locally made blades in such styles. This sword has a 32 1/2 inches long blade locally made. The cross guard is engraved silver and so is the grip strap. The grips are horn with silver pommel cap. Wood scabbard covered with nice heavy chased silver scabbard. Total length 40 inches. Very good condition. Late 19c.
