19 C. Rare Qajar Persian Revival Sword. - 6353


We offer for sale this beautiful 19 Century Persian straight sword also known as Revival sword, as it was reviving the use of old 15 C style islamic straight swords. Quite a rare item and not frequently seen on the market. This beautiful blade is 29 inches long, 2 inches wide at the top, and although thin is very solid and both edges are sharp. The upper part of the blade is elaboratly etched in the typical Qajar style with human figures and hunting scenes within dense foliage background. The lower part of the blade is etched with a styled snake. The hilt is all steel, with down curving quillons, and was decorated with silver koftgary, now mostly gone. Total length 36 inches. No scabbard. Very good condition. There are very small and few pitted spots.
