The swords and daggers of the Baule tribe were very rare and sought after by collectors of African weapon / tribal arts. The Baule people reside in Ivory Coast and Neighboring Ghana. We think that the fine dagger offered here is Baule. Very well forged blade 8 inches long.. The handle is finely carved ivory with a cross shaped base. Tooled leather original scabbard. Total length 13 inches. Very good condition. Very good age patina on the handle.
