Very Rare and Fine Kiem Vietnamese Straight Sword - 12977

This fine straight, double edge sword is Vietnamese, early 20 C. , also known as Kiem. Its narrow long well forged blade is 27 1/2 inches long with a shallow diamond cross section. The handle is composed of an ivory grip with very finely chased big silver pommel and cross guard. Wood scabbard covered with tortoise shell and with beautifully chased silver mounts. Total length 38 inches. Very good condition. Old age crack on the grip side but it holds very solid. A very impressive sword. |
