That is the biggest we have seen: A monstrous Dah sword, 47 inches long. It is shown below next to a normal size long Dah sword. Blade is up curving, 32 inches long. Massive ivory handle, more than 15 inches long and more than 2 inches in diameter, mounted with chased silver collar and pommel. The style and decoration suggests an origin from North Thailand or Laos. The incredible size suggests a presentation / ceremonial sword or a display item to advertise a sword maker. Another suggestion was that this sword is what known in the Thai Mythology as Elephant sword. See the photo of an old painting below. But were elephants really trained to carry and fight with swords?? Early to mid 20 C. A very impressive sword.
