Spears like this, with a barbed blade are common to the Konde and Ngoni people of South East Africa: Tanzania and the neighboring areas. The one for sale here is a classical example. 8 inches blade with a 4 inches socket mounted on a 55 inches wood haft, bound with steel strips on its end. Total length 67 inches. Very good condition. An authentic spear, circa late 19C early 20th at a very attractive price.
