Very Good Ram Dao Sword, Nepal - 12816


This Ram-Dao is a sacrificial sword from Nepal. It is meant to behead the sacrificed animal in one sword blow, and this is exactly how the blade is designed: Heavy 18 inches long, down curving blade with a massive handle. The blade is decorated with engraving and inlaid with brass decoration just below the spine and on the back. The famous guarding eye is engraved and set with brass at the blade tip. The grip is turned wood fitted with heavy brass mount and a brass pommel. Total length 26 inches. Very good condition. Age crack on the grip. Early – mid 20th C.
