This fine large spear is Thai, late 19C. 16 inches massive blade of hollow ground diamond cross section. 10 inches steel collar richly decorated with silver inlay work. Wood shaft narrowing toward the tail for good balance. The haft is finely carved with many small images of bugs (?) tails on its entire length. Total length 89 inches. Very good condition. Good smooth age patina on the blade. Small losses to the silver inlay and minor chips top the wood carving. A fine and very impressive spear.
