Pair of Chinese Broad Short Sword - 12778

This is a good set of two Chinese short swords in a common scabbard. These swords are sometimes related to the Boxer wars in the turn of the 20 C. but they are not necessarily so, although the dating to the early 1900’s is correct. Heavy, wide blades, 18 inches long with a 7 inches false edge, 2 inches wide and ½ inch thick each. Steel cross guards with D guards. Ribbed wood grips with brass mounts. The two blades fits into a heavy leather scabbard (later). Total length (in scabbard) 22 ½ inches. Very good condition. Small edge nicks on the blade. One blade is very slightly bent. |
