Here we offer quite rare short dagger of the Mangbetu people. The Mangbetu live in north east Congo and were famous for their high quality art and craft especially musical instruments and weapon.The daggers has very nice double edged hand forged blades 5 1/2 inches long. original leather scabbards covered with nice wide brass strips. Carved Ivory handles. Total length 9 1/2 inches. Early 20th Century.
