This short knife is a typical knife from the Maldives Islands located South West of India. It is characterized by the up swept pommel tip. In general it has some resemblance to the Piha Kahetta from Sri Lanka. This exemplar is from the late 19th early 20th century, with a 3 inches blade. The grips are horn with white metal and copper separators and pommel is ivory. Total length 9 inches. Original ebony scabbard. Very good condition. Quite a scarce item.
