Here we offer a very unusual Hooded Katar. The Hooded Katar is an old version of the famous Indian Kattar (Katar) push dagger. A development stage between the Pata, the long gauntlet sword and the Kattar, the short push dagger. This one is 19C example with armor piercing tip. The blade is 10 1/2 inches long, with a central rib and a thickened armor piercing tip. The handle is protected with a steel hood decorated with brass inlaid decoration and terminating in a styled snake head shaped tip. 18 1/2 inches total length. Very Good condition.
