Here we offer a very rare African short sword used by the Lokele, Soko and Tetela people from Congo. It has a very well made double edged blade 22 inches long with two off center fullers and central rib decorated with local design.Wood handle covered with steel and brass strips and braided rattan. small wood hand guard and old collection number. Total length 29 inches. Very well made and rare African sword. A similar sword is in: Zirngibl, Rare African short weapons, page 40, Fig. 36/7. The sword is coming from a local collection and was purchased from an old collection in the UK 20 years ago.
