Fine Naga Sword Burma - 12182


The Naga people of Assam (North-East India) and The Kachin people of Myanmar (Burma) uses this very efficient sword / cleaver. It has a very heavy blade, widening to maximum width at its very top. This one is a classical example. Heavy laminated blade with bevelededge, 18 inches long,3 inches at widest point. Wood grip with flared pommel bound with red lacquered braided rattan fibers and with a bone pommel cover, brass and silver collar. The scabbard is open on one side, bound also with rattan bands to hold the blade in place, including the complete rattan made carrying belt with some tipe of rodent jaw attached to it. Total length 31 inches inches (in scabbard). It is in very good condition. Cracked scabbard. All authentic. This example is of good quality better than average examples
