This sword / saber is Hungarian, also known as Magnate sword. The blade and handle are late 18 – early 19 C. Blade 33 inches, nicely engraved. The grips are ivory and the cross guard and grip strap are brass. The scabbard is later, probably early 20 C, covered with velvet and mounted with chased brass mounts set with colored stones (Glass ??). Total length 38 inches. Good condition. Blade lightly worn. The left grip is cracked but holds solid.
