Fine Ottoman Yataghan Sword - 12127


This Yataghan sword is most probably coming from the Balkan areas of the Ottoman empire, mid 19C. 19 inches down curving double fullered blade decorated with silver inlay inscriptions in Arabic letters. Walrus grips with wide, square cut pommel ears. Gilded copper grips strap and bolsters, finely decorated and set with coral stones and two green stone on the bolsters. Original scabbard covered with black leather and large gilded silver locket set with many corals and finely chased gilded silver chape. Total length 26 inces. Very good condition. Old repairs on the grips.
