This fine pair of Turkish Bichaq long Knives is early 19C. , almost identical pieces. Blades 11 inches, finely forged from twisted steel rods in the pattern known as Turkish Ribbon. Elephant ivory grips and silver bolsters and grip straps. The scabbards are finely chased silver. Total length 17 inches. Very good condition. Repaired pommel ears on one of the pair. Minor repairs on the grip straps. The lobbed pommel may suggest a North African attribution.
