This Yemenite Jambiya dagger is also known as Thouma and it is carried mostly by high ranking peoples in the Yemenite society. The blade is wide, double edged with a pronounced central rib 8 inches long and 2 ½ inches wide. The handle is carved from rhino horn decorated with iron nails and brass imitation coins. The scabbard is wood with large silver chape set with turquoise and carnelian stones. Total length of belt 13 ½ inches. Very good condition. The back side fabric cover is recent.
