This Persian Khnajar is early – mid 19 C. , with unusual wavy blade with reinforced edges, forged from fine wootz (Watered, Damascus) steel. Animals and hunting scenes are chiseled on the base of the blade with traces of gold inlay decoration. Blade length 8 ½ inches. Single piece walrus ivory handle. Original leather covered scabbard. Total length 12 ½ inches. Very good condition. The chiseled animals figures are a bit worn.
