A Dah sword with a monstrous ivory handle. Blade is up curving, 24 inches long 2 ½ inches wide. Massive ivory handle, 13 inches long and more than 2 inches in diameter, mounted with chased silver collar and pommel. A close up photo of the handle next to a common size Dah handle is shown below to demonstrate the dimensions. The style and decoration suggests an origin from North Thailand or Laos. The size suggests a presentation / ceremonial or a display sword. Early to mid 20 C. A very impressive sword.
