This is a classical fine 19 C. Persian Shamshir sword with 18 C. blade of fine high contrast wootz steel. Blade length 33 inches. Walrus ivory grips and steel cross guard and grip strap finely decorated with gold koftgari work. Original tooled leather covered scabbard with steel belt carrying bands also finely inlaid with gold. Total length 38 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the gold inlay work. Minor losses and small repaired damages to the leather cover. This Shamshir comes with a very interesting leather carrying belt with fine steel buckle.
