This very good Yataghan sword is coming from the western Balkan or eastern Europe. Mid – late 19C. Straight blade 25 inches long, with a narrow fuller below the spine. The blade is very richly decorated with silver inlay (true inlay) on its entire length on both sides. Elephant ivory grips with very big ears. Brass bolsters and grip strap (later). Brass covered scabbard. Total length 31 inches. Very good condition. Deep color age patina on the grips with age cracks and old repairs. Very minor losses to the silver inlay decoration.
