Indian Khanjar Dagger with Early Blade - 11898
This dagger is coming from India, most probably Rajhastan but may be from other Northern state. It is a very early style. The blade is double edge with a pronounced central rib 10 inches long, 17 C. or about. The handle is a later addition, probably mid –late 20 C. Cast bronze in the shape and style of earlier daggers with traces of red color. Total length 14 ½ inches. Very good condition. For a similar style dagger see Robert Elgood, HINDU ARMS AND RITUAL p. 163. |
