This dagger / short sword is Indian, mid –late 19C. The blade is 14 inches long, single edged, re-curving and with a 4 ½ inches back edge. It is forged from Indian (Crystalline) Wootz steel in the structure known as “scarf welding”. The bolsters are brass and the grips are bone with brass rosettes on the rivets. Total length 18 inches. Very good condition. God age patina on the grips with an age crack on the left grip. Minor discoloration areas of the blade steel.
