This very fine small knife is Turkish, early 18 C. or earlier. Blade 3 ½ inches forged from fine wootz (watered) steel. The handle is made of sectors of horn and ivory decorated with inserted brass and Mother of pearl rondels and brass nails. Eared pommel set with red stones. The scabbard is ivory decorated en suite with the handle and mounted with chased silver mounts set with turquoise stones. Total length 8 ½ inches. Very good condition.
