As best as it can get, and from our private collection we offer for sale this very fine Shamshir sword, Syrian, 19 C. Earlier, 18 C. blade, Persian made, finely forged from top quality wootz with high contrast pattern, signed by the maker with gold inlaid cartouche and a Badouh magic square. Handle of steel grips cross guard and grip strap all finely inlaid with gold koftgari work. Scabbard with leather cover, spiral stitching and gold decorated steel mounts. Blade 32 inches, total 37 inches. Very good plus condition. Almost mint. Only several rivet covers on the grips are missing. A very fine and impressive sword.
