Very Good and Early Omani Jambiya/ Khanjar Dagger - 11791
A very good Arab Jambiya dagger, late 19 – early 20 C. from Oman. It has a 7 ½ inches curved and dual edge blade of good steel with a pronounced central rib. The hilt is horn mounted with chased silver collar. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather finely embroidered with silver strips and wires, and mounted with chase silver locket en suite with the hilt mounts. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of silver rings and twisted silver wire. This Khanjar comes with original and rare leather belt, also embroidered with silver strips and mounted with four silver buttons, each with the emblem of Oman. Total length is 11 ½ inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the silver embroidery.
