19 C. French / Spanish Navaja Knife - 11778

A Spanish folding knife known also as Navaja . It was extensively used in Spain during the 18 and 19 Centuries to cut food as well as to settle personal accounts, and found as a man best companion still today. This one is a 19 Century probably made in France for the Spanish market. Blade is signed TOLEDO, probably a copy of a very similar one made by Beauvoir . 7 inches blade with a 4 inches clipped tip. Handle set with bone and horn panels and brass fittings. Total length 16 inches fully opened. Very good condition. Blade patinated and maker sign worn. Minor worn to the horn panels. |
