A fine and complete Arab Jambiya dagger, mid 20 C. from Oman. It has a 7 inches curved and dual edge blade of good steel with a pronounced central rib. The hilt is horn decorated with fine filigree silver work and a filigree silver collar. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather and bound with a dense net of silver wires and twisted wires. chased silver locket and chape en suite with the hilt mounts. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of silver rings and twisted silver wire. This Khanjar comes with its original brocade belt with golden threads. Total length is 12 inches. Very good plus condition. Impressive example of the famous Omani Khanjar / Jambiya.
