This Billao dagger comes from the coastal people of Somalia. It has a classical but non-symmetrical leaf shape blade, 8 ½ inches long. The handle is made of two sections of ivoey separated by two sectors of black horn and brass and Aluminum layers. The pommel pronge is made of silver in a typical form. This item comes with its original hide scabbard, beautifuly decorated with colored fibers. Total length (in scabbard) 16 inches. Good condition. Minor edge damages. The scabbared seams are open in the places were the belt was attached but it is still very firm.
