This Yataghan sword is Ottoman, Balkan origin, early – mid 19 C. Fine laminated blade richly decorated with silver inlay (true inlay) of inscriptions in Arabic letters. Blade length 22 inches. Elephant ivory grips of good age color (with later repair of cracks). Chased gilded silver grip strap and bolsters. Total length 27 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the silver inlay.
