This yataghan sword is Turkish, late 18 – early 19 C. The 25 inches marked blade is forge welded from several twisted steel rods in a pattern known as Turkish Ribbon. The grips are horn decorated with many small silver tacks. Silver strap and bolsters. Total length 30 inches. Very good condition. Blackened areas and shallow pitted spots on the blade.
