This fine Arab Khnjar / Jambiya dagger is early 20 C. from Oman. It has a 7 inches curved and dual edge well forged blade with a pronounced central rib. The grip is carved from Rhino horn mounted with chased silver collar partially gilded and decorated with two gilded silver rosettes. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather elaborately embroidered with gold and silver strips and wires, and mounted with chased filigree silver locket en suite with the hilt mounts also gilded on the front. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of silver rings and twisted silver wire. Total length is 12 inches. Very good condition. Blade with minor patches of lightly pitted areas.
