18 C. Pata Long Gauntlet Sword - India - 11479


The Pata Indian gauntlet Sword that was evolved from the Kattar push dagger and was in use during several centuries in India. This one is probably early 18 C. with a very long double edge blade 43 inches long. The hand gauntlet is made of steel shaped like an elephant head with two small symbolic tusks. Total length 56 inches. Very good condition to age. Patinated blade but no deep pitting. No scabbard. A scarce, unique and impressive item.
