A very good Jambiya Dagger from East Turkey / North Iraq used by the Kurdish people residing in this region. Late 19 C. The blade is 9 inches long (point to point) curved and double edge with a central rib. It is forged from wootz (Watered, Damascus) steel. The hilt is “I” shaped cut from black horn and set with four ivory disks below the rivets. The scabbard is made of heavy silver in a typical Kurd style. Total length in scabbard is 16 inches. Very good condition. Minor dents on the silver.
