: Kilij Style Sword from East Europe - 11440


We are not sure as for the origin of this sword, probably Hungary, mid – late 19 C. The blade is in the shape of the ottoman Kilij (or Pala) and it is forged from very fine pattern welded steel with a deep fuller on the spine and gold inlay decoration on the base. Blade length28 inches. Back edge 9 inches. Silver handle with fine chasing and heavy whole solver cross guard with chiseled and chased design, set with red stones and turquoise stones. Total length 33 inches. Very good condition.
