Fine Arabian Saif Sword with European Blade. - 11421


This fine sword is an Arabian saber, also known as Saif. These Saif swords usually employs trade blades imported from Persia or from Europe, or locally made blades in such styles. This sword has a 31 inches long blade of European origin with etched inscription in Latin letters ( a bit worn). The cross guard is finely chased silver and so is the grip strap. The grips are ivory bound with twisted silver wire and silver pommel cap. Wood scabbard covered with black leather ( a later replacement) and mounted with finely chased belt rings and chape. Total length 36 inches. Very good condition.
