Military Long Saber, Afghanistan - 11400


By the end of the 19 C. during the British – Afghan wars, the Afghani military forces were equipped with a variety of swords in a military style. This is one example of such sword. Long, heavy, single edge and fullered blade 32 inches long with a 2 inches ricasso. Handle with steel cross guard and D Guard, bone grips and down curving brass pommel. Leather covered scabbard with long steel locket and chape. Total length 40 inches. Very good condition.
