Syrian Jambiya dagger, circa 1950, made in the Druze village of Magdal Shams (Tower of the sun) in the Golan Heights, the area of dispute between Israel and Syria. Curved short, 7 inches blade etched with imitation of Arabic letters on both faces. The handle made from layers of horn and bone with round inserts of colored horn and nails. Chased brass scabbard. Total length 11 inches. Very good condition.
