Very Good Tuareg Sword Takouba with Early 16 C (?) European Blade - 11280
This very good Takouba the sword of the Tuareg is a 19 C. sword, with a double edge 29 inches blade, earlier and of European origin, signed with a maker mark and what might be a styled image of the running wolf of Solingen and Passau. The hilt is of the classical Takouba design covered with tooled leather. The scabbard is tooled leather and comes with the original colored carrying cord with big colored tassels in red green and black. Total length 34 inches. Very good condition. The marks on the blade might very well be authentic which than date the blade to the 16 C. A very impressive sword.
