Balkan Yataghans are quite common and comes in variety of qualities. But one with a real wootz blade is quite rare. This one is mid 19 C, finely forged blade 243 inches long with a fine fuller just below the spine and double fuller on the spine. The blade is etched and gold inlaid (Now mostly gone), with a small panel of inscription in Arabic letters. Walrus grips with big side ears, complete and un cracked (as mostly happens to similar grips). Gilded silver grip strap and bolsters set with drop shaped corrals. Leather covered scabbard with spiral stitched seam and plain silver locket and belt carrying band. Total length 30 inches. Very good condition. Very minor and small chips on the grips.
