This very fine shield is late 18 – early 19 C. most probably Central India. 17 inches diameter, made from heavy Rhino hide, beautifully painted black and orange. It is mounted with four silver bosses enameled with green and blue vivid colors. Very good condition. Minor losses to the paint on the perimeter. Inner hand cushion is missing. Handles torn. Very rare and unique.
