Very Fine and Rare Indian Sword with European Blade - 11159


This very fine sword is Indian, probably Rajhastan and may be from the Bikaner armory. The straight long blade is 33 inches long with a 9 inches back edge. It is signed DIME & EL ATERRO and marked with a maker mark. It is also etched with local Indian letters and dot punches on the spine (Typical to the Bikaner armory). The steel handle is very finely inlaid with gold and silver (true inlay) all around. Scabbard covered with red silk and mounted with a gold inlaid steel tip. Total length 38 ½ inches. Very good plus condition. Scabbard cover seam is later replacement. Very fine and rare.
