Very Fine and complete 18 C. Ottoman Kilij/Pala Sword - 11151
This Kilij Sword, sometimes known as Pala is Turkish, late 18 – early 19 C. The blade, 28 inches long deeply curved with a 10 inches raised back edge, finely decorated with gold koftgari work. The grips are horn with silver grip strap and cross guard. Wood scabbard with its original leather cover with spiral stitching. Finely engraved and nielloed (very rare) silver fittings. This sword comes with its original red cotton carrying rope. Very good condition. A very fine sword of quality.
