Very Fine 18 C. Karud Dagger - 6126

A very fine ‘KARUD’ (the common name for a ‘Pesh-Kabz’ with straight blade). It is dated 1141 (?) which is 1728. North India or Afghanistan origin. A very fine wootz blade 10 ˝ inches long with acute point and reinforced T spine. The grips are elephant ivory with a very deep age patina. The grip strap is also wootz steel. The scabbard is wood covered with leather and mounted with silver fittings. A very high quality piece for the advanced collector. All parts are original and in very good condition. Only minor age chips on the ivory grips.
