Good Moro Kris with Damascus Blade - 6123
This is a very good Moro Kris sword, probably 19 century. The straight heavy blade is 22 1/2 inches long, constructed from a pattern welded (Damascus) steel. The grip is horn bound with rattan fibers. The scabbard is dark wood bound with rattan strips in three bands. The tip of the scabbard is carved in floral pattern and filled with white material. Good condition. Minor damages from battle scars on the blade. The grip is later to the blade and scabbard. The metal clamps are missing and the rattan wrap is recent. Yet it is a great item altogether. An excellent sword and one of quality for any collection of Filipino weapons. |
