This Dah sword could be of Thai or Lao origin, large dimensions. Late 19 - early 20 C. The finely forged blade is 20 1/2 inches long, almost 2 inches wide, with ridged spine. It is finely engraved along the spine. Wood handle 14 ½ inches long, bound with lacquered fibers and steel collar. Small steel cross guard. Wood scabbard bound with rattan strips and horn (?) bands. Total length 38 inches. Very good condition. Good age patina on the blade and wood parts. Minor losses to the rattan binding.
