After the famous Chinese Double Jian set of swords, we offer for sale this rare set of two short swords, probably Chinese Jian Decorated in a classical Vietnamese style. Late 19 C. The two blades are housed in one scabbard, both rather heavy, of flat diamond cross section, 21 inches long. Wood grips with brass cross guard and pommel decorated with a fine inserts of Mother of Pearl in a floral design. The scabbard is polished wood decorated with the same shell design and mounted with beautifully chased silver mounts. Total length 31 inches. Very good condition. Blackened areas on the blade but no pitting. Minor losses to the shell inserts. Very rare set of swords.
